How can all of this be? Well, because of the power of the internet, I have been able to use the concept of social marketing fairly easily. And when you use social media sites on the web, there is zero cost. So, this is what I do: First, I join many of the social media sites that are very popular today across the web. I am talking about video sharing sites like YouTube, and social networking sites like FaceBook and MySpace. Then what do I do? Well, I try to become social with a purpose. For example, I will share great free information on videos that I upload to many of the video sharing sites. Also, I will create a blog to share with the friends that I generate for myself on MySpace. It’s really not that hard, if you make great videos or create a great blog, then people will want to be your friend on many of these social media sites. They will then decide they want to visit your websites and some will really be excited to purchase your products or join your network marketing team.

So, what is the biggest reason why all of this rocks my socks? Well, the biggest attraction for me is that if I can learn to generate sales through using social media, then the sales that I have generated cost me nothing in advertising. As a result, I no longer need to spend thousands of dollars for Pay Per Click advertising for my online businesses.

Daniel Pereira

Well, I believe it is because most people don’t think outside the box. You see, if you had a great new website that you wanted to advertise, what would you likely do first? Most people nowadays would jump on Google Adwords and start advertising. And a lot of companies are willing to spend at least $1,000 per day on this advertising. Now, if your website is a really great sales tool, then this plan will work for you, but if you just have a mediocre website, then there may be a good chance that you will lose money using just pay-per-click advertising. But, if you decide to implement a few Social Marketing techniques with your website, the you will learn that you can make a good amount of money for your website because you will be able to start driving a good amount of free traffic to your website.

When using social marketing on the web, what you will do is drive free traffic to your websites because you are going to share valuable information with people for free. These people will appreciate the free information, and if they see that you have more valuable advice or content to share with them, then you will make is so that they WANT to visit your website. This works even if you have a retail website. For example, maybe you have a website where you sell music and dvds. You can easily provide people with reviews of this music and these dvds on the numerous social networking sites that are available across the web. Now, let’s say that you are one of the few people on the web that decided to provide a review on a new album. You could provide this review through video, and article, or even a blog post. When people decide to search on the web for reviews of that new album, you will likely have your review at the number one spot of the search engines. Or, if you provide a few reviews of that new album, you may even have the first few spots for that search. At the end of your review, you can mention to people that if they want a great price for that new album, then they can visit your website. Or you can offer people an opportunity to sign up for your email list to get reviews on other products when they come out.

I use the example of a retail website to show you how you can use social marketing for just about anything. Obviously, if you are selling information on the web, you can use social marketing even easier. For example, I am writing this article about how to make money with social marketing. Chances are that my website probably has a lot to do with social marketing since I am writing this article, right?

Basically, what you are going to do in order to make money on the web with these social marketing tactics is simply by becoming social on the web. If people like what content you have to share with them for free, then they are likely to be interested in your other products, services, and information. Also, since these people start to see you as a real person, and not just some guy hiding behind a computer screen, then they are also likely going to trust you more as a person or company. They will have more of a desire to do business with you.

Here’s a continuation of the last post so you don’t feel like I left you high and dry (by the way, this is a great way to get people to buy your info products, etc. Kinda like a movie trailer…Now that youve started it, you HAVE TO FINISH IT!) You should base your research on the 3 keys I told you last post.

If your market can’t afford the product or service you’re thinking about selling, they will never buy it, obviously. So, we at The Free Traffic Formula have a favorite way of taking care of this potential problem: Target only people that have at least a little bit of extra money.

This has a magnificent side effect!! When you’re targeting your market correctly and putting yourself in the heads of people that have money, you actually start picking up the nuances of their attitudes toward life in general…Never a bad thing. Your income and general outlook is usually the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with, so everyone can use a healthy dose of “spending time in the minds of people with money”.

“Be careful with the friends you choose, for you will become like them.” W. Clement Stone.

Target a market that has money, and values “stuff” as an investment instead of a cost.

Keep that in mind. It should not need any more explanation.

“They don’t need it” is a little more complicated. You may say to yourself, “Everyone needs my health product” or “Everyone NEEDS my legal service (or my money saving service—hint!)”

If they DON’T THINK they need it, then they DON’T NEED it!! That’s why they probably should not get into providing a product, service, or information until they do their research on who’s buying what.

Smart marketers never have to try to convince anyone of anything! They go out and look for those people that are actively searching for what the marketer provides and they put it in those people’s faces. They get sales all day long with this approach.

Even SMARTER marketers do it THIS way:

Before they even consider a product to sell, they go out and look at what people are buying and sell THAT. It’s a little bit harder work, because it changes fairly often. But like everything else, once you do the work and you’re making money you can hire someone to do the research for you.

SO, in our view, the best thing to do is try to put yourself in others’ shoes. Most gurus will agree that we should know our prospects even better than our product or the company that provides it. This will help with not only the market research and targeting your market, but also the copy writing and sales campaigns to get new customers, keep them for longer (loyalty), and to keep them buying more stuff from you.

“They don’t trust you” doesn’t pertain quite as much to market research as it does to branding yourself on the net and establishing yourself as an expert online. But it does have to do with targeting people with money. Those that don’t have financial problems are usually more trusting and are MUCH less likely to think something is a potential “scam” because they don’t have a “victim’s mentality”. They are overall easier to work with.

Don’t forget to go up and to the left and grab some great training that won’t cost you a thing.

Please take a minute and bookmark this post below.

The reason he decided on this particular niche was the following:

2. He knows others that may like to save money.

3. The economy looks like it’s running headlong into the recession that later proved to be real, with the housing crisis as well as the credit crunch.

It would seem that he made a great analysis, right? Well, unfortunately for him and thousands of other would-be marketers, he did not put enough research into it.

The biggest problem with his logic was that he thought that since HE thought it logical to save money, he figured that everyone else in the entire nation would see the same thing. WRONG.

Quick point: NEVER ASSUME THAT SINCE YOU LIKE AN IDEA, THAT THE REST OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF THE WORLD WILL LOVE THE IDEA ALONG WITH YOU.

This thought process has more businesses fail before they start than any other reason.

You’ll see this saying a lot in our training: “People buy on emotion, then they use logic to justify their purchase”

In other words, people do exactly what they want to do. Many times, this has NOTHING to do with their needs. If you think about it, you know this is true because if they made their buying decisions on their needs, everyone would save 20% of their income, they would not be in so much negative debt (consumer debt instead of the positive, business kind of debt. Instead of buying that big screen TV on the or credit card with 17% interest, they use their credit for an investment or a business that not only pays them the interest, but then an extra 10%), and the economy wouldn’t be in such a terrible state. More importantly, they would have more money to buy our products and services…

BUT, they DO buy products and services, just not Daniel’s. Why? Because the ones selling the services and products are targeting their markets correctly!!

You see, Daniel is a logical thinker, which is probably only about 10% of the population, not a big enough market, especially when you consider the fact that most logical thinkers don’t need to save money because they’ve done all the right things in the right order to be financially stable, maybe even wealthy.

Whom did he target? People that are almost desperate to save money. They have money problems. These are the people that started the recession in the first place. If they already have the mindset to put them in bad money circumstances, you can guess that they won’t be willing to PAY to SAVE money.

The results that he got from his advertising campaign showed this. OOPS!!

Although he had the perfect product, well written ( and only $35 paid to have potentially hundreds of dollars in the bank extra at the end of the month!!), well executed, with lots of free info first to PROVE that the information and the techniques worked. Sales trickled in along with lots of emails saying “How DARE you try to sell me something!” This was a front-end product to begin a marketing funnel in order to get people to subscribe to a program that was $50 per month…you can probably guess at what the ultimate results were…the main company actually flopped on him. No more marketing funnel. But he does get sales trickling in as well as residual side income as a result of…well, the same principle in adsense.

There’re 3 reasons why people won’t buy from you.

With around 200 million users, MySpace can be an amazing opportunity for marketing your products or services if you do things the correct way. But if you don’t know some of the major secrets behind doing your MySpace marketing, then you can easily mess up and possibly ruin your reputation along with the reputation of your company. The following tips will likely help you to avoid this catastrophe.

One of the first secrets I want to share with you today should be a no-brainer, but some people just don’t get it. That secret is, if you are trying to build a list of friends, people almost always want to accept friend requests from real people, and not companies. I have seen people’s MySpace pages where the page and maybe even their username is just an advertisement for a company. I have a retail website called RockitRigs.com that we market on MySpace. Of course our MySpace page mentions our company, but the pictures on our page are pictures of me, my wife and my brother-in-law. We share stories about ourselves and how the company came about. As a result, we show people that they we are requesting them to be friends with real people and not an advertisement.

A second huge secret that will make or break you on MySpace is giving people a compelling reason to be friends with you. I use the example of my website RockitRigs.com in this article in order to show you that this can be done, even if you are promoting a website where you sell actual goods. I admit that we had to be a bit creative in order to give people a compelling reason to be our friends, but what we eventually did works out pretty well. We invited people that had interest in our products and told them that we give away free Rockit Rigs gear each month to some of our MySpace friends and some of our FaceBook friends. So, we invited them to get stuff for free that they already had interest in buying, and all they had to do was to accept our friend request in order to have a chance to win every single month. Since we are offering stuff for free, many people are accepting our friend requests instead of deciding to mark the spam button.

A third thing I would like to share with you today has to do with something that I already mentioned, and that is, you need to target your market on MySpace. If I send a friend request for my Rockit Rigs website to an elderly woman who has joined a knitting group, then it is extremely probable that she will mark my request as spam. What we do is market to people by which groups they have joined and occasionally by which famous people that they are friends with. So, for our Rockit Rigs website, we target groups of people who are part of groups related to the products we sell. And if I was promoting a website for learning real estate, I would focus on the many real estate groups as well as maybe target the friends of Robert Kiyosaki and other real estate gurus on MySpace.

A fourth thing I want to share with you concerns the amount of people you request as your MySpace friends. There is software available that allows you to easily request hundreds of people per hour on MySpace, but if you get carried away, then your account can easily be shut down by MySpace, here’s why: Let’s say that you request 500 strangers to be your friend. You show them that you are a real person and you give them a great reason to be your friend. Out of these 500 people, are some of them still going to mark the spam button? Of course some of them are, and I wouldn’t be surprised if over 75 of these people still mark the spam button. Now, if every day you decide you want to invite 500 friends and you get 75 spam complaints, then that number of 75 spam complaints is going to be highly visible to MySpace even though the other 425 people either just declined your request or actually accepted you as a friend. Chances are that with so many spam complaints, your account will likely be shut down, making it so that you have to start all over again.

And now for the last MySpace marketing secret that I would like to share with you today: It is better to request smaller numbers of friends each day on multiple accounts than to risk having a single account shut down because you are getting 75 spam complaints per day. You see, MySpace doesn’t mind if you have multiple accounts built with them on MySpace. I know of some people that have various accounts for different marketing purposes and then I know of other people that have 10 accounts, that all look the same, all for the same purpose. They do this because they are impatient like most marketers. Why only settle for a few free leads today when you can take a couple of extra steps and get 30 free leads today? If you are considering setting up multiple accounts for the same reason, just realize that you will need to have different email addresses for each account. The rule on MySpace is that you can only have one MySpace account per email address. By following this secrets to your MySpace Marketing, hopefully you will be a few steps closer to accomplishing your marketing goals.

Daniel Pereira

By the way, for more free training for your MySpace Marketing, you are going to want to read Dan Dimit’s book that teaches MSM along with more tips to your MySpace Marketing. You can sign up for that book for free on the left of this blog post.

O.K., so if you have ever considered getting your feet wet with MySpace Marketing, then there are a few pieces of advice that can really help you out. You see, there are a lot of people that get into MySpace marketing, do a couple of simple things wrong, and then get their accounts shut down. Now, if you have worked hard to build a friend list of over 1,000 people, then this can really hurt. From what I have seen, if you follow a couple pieces of my advice, then MySpace will be o.k. with your marketing and won’t shut down those accounts.

First of all, if you are using MySpace to market porn, I would prefer that you stopped. Also, those are the accounts that get shut down the fastest. Most people immediately mark these accounts as spam, and it seems like a lot of these pages are shut down within 24 hours.

Now, for those of you marketing almost anything other than porn, there is great hope for you on MySpace if you follow a few simple steps. First thing you’ll want to do is make sure you aren’t requesting to many friends each day on each one of your accounts. The friend inviter software programs (www.myspacenewleads.com) usually suggest that you invite no more than a few hundred friends per day, but I suggest doing no more than 100 per day per MySpace account. This is because even if you are targeting your market on MySpace correctly, a lot of people will just click the spam button because they don’t know you yet. If enough people are doing this each time that you invite a few hundred people each day, then your account will likely get shut down. If you want your pages on MySpace to stay on the web for years to come, then you’ll want to try and make sure you follow this rule. Also, when you build certain pages to a couple of thousand people, others will see that you have a good reputation and will automatically want to be your friend. But you can’t get to that 2,000 mark with an account that has been deleted.

O.K., when you target your market, you need to make sure that you give people a reason to be your friend. I like telling people that we can each help each other out by sharing information on my blog. So, if I was targeting internet marketers, then I would invite them to share success stories, tips, and advice on my MySpace blog. Also, I might tell them about free resources that I offer internet marketers on my MySpace page.

Now, here is where some people will mess up. The logical thing to do would be to create my internet marketing page with tons of: links to my website, an opt-in box, and then the promised blog. But what you need the most of on your page is: Pictures of you and your family, a detailed about me section, information about your likes and dislikes, etc. Why is this? Well, people come to MySpace and other social networking sites in order to interact with real people. If they go to your page and you are a “website” instead of a real person, then they are most likely to click the back button on their internet browser and then mark your friend request as spam. So, be a real person on MySpace, give people a good reason to be your friend, don’t invite over 100 people per MySpace account per day, provide people with valuable information they can use, cross your fingers, and things should more than likely go as planned. If they don’t, then it’s o.k. to start over again. Luckily MySpace will be forgiving for a while.

Web 2.0 (or Internet, version 2) was coined because, blogs, social networks, video sharing sites all have content, but they are now created and updated by the actual USERS of these sites.

How does that benefit you?

Well, before, when someone went into business online. They had to hire a web designer to create a website for you, or try to figure out how to build one themselves.

Now with the advent of Blogs and places like Myspace, you can literally have a web presence in a matter of minutes!

With the Right Software (and it’s free, by the way), at www.myspacenewleads.com you can even add friends to your myspace profile, up to 50 for free on a daily basis.

So now, you have the ability to actually PICK and CHOOSE your prospects, in a rejection free environment. Sure, you’ll have the occasional mean message, but they’ll be few and far between if you’re targeting your market correctly and adding value to their lives.

Start building relationships with them, and voila, you start the “dating or courtship” process…

But, there is a Way to do this…

You’ve got to be a great communicator…because the temptation to throw a cheesy line is built into you.

So I would like to start out this brief post discussing some of my subscribers’ favorite button to push. And that button would be, the “report spam” button, of course! Now, for those of you that use double opt-in for your email marketing, you probably understand my frustration. Each time I send an email to people, giving them the exact information that they asked for, without even trying to sell them on any products, I at least get one spam complaint. I am actually pretty frustrated with one of my double opt-in lists right now because I am getting slightly more than the acceptable .1% complaint rate for email marketing. My current rate for this specific list is about .13%, so about 1.3 people out of every 1,000 each time I send out an email, click that famous “report spam” button.

Now, of course with other lists that I have, I am well below the .1% acceptable rate. But the whole reason I am sharing this with you is to point out something very important: people like to “report spam.” And I admit that if I think someone is spamming one of my accounts, I am really fast to click on the “report spam” button as well.

Now, what does this have to do with marketing to Yahoo Groups? Well, in my opinion, many people see Yahoo Groups as a good way to do marketing, and many people do succeed. But there is a larger group of people who end up getting kicked out of many groups on Yahoo Groups because they are trying to generate free traffic to their websites by placing “ads.” And when people see anything that looks like you are trying to get free traffic, then they are really fast to accuse you as being a spammer. And in today’s online world, being labeled as a spammer can really hurt your reputation, even if you technically weren’t spamming at all.

Now, I myself have considered using Yahoo Groups for some serious free traffic generation, but after learning from others and doing a bit of investigating, I think I’ll leave Yahoo Groups for the spammers. Almost all of the groups on Yahoo Groups nowadays make you go through a membership process before you can become part of the group, and almost all of them have an anti-spam policy. And for the rest of the groups that are labeled as public? Well, those are the groups that are most likely to get spammed, making those groups not as desirable to join.

Now, from what I have learned, there still is one “correct” way that you can do some really great marketing on Yahoo Groups, but in my opinion it seems a bit difficult. The answer is: start your own group. If you start your OWN group on Yahoo, then you are actually allowed to “spam” your own group as much as you want. That is why it’s you’re group, it’s almost like having your own subscribers list. If you have some really great content to share with the world, you can have some great success building your own groups. Once you have a group with a bunch of members, more and more people will want to become part of that group because logically they will think that it is a good group to be in since it has a bunch of members. But then, after all of your work has paid off, you will have your own set of problems. Yes, the spammers will be coming after your own group that you worked so hard to build! So, is marketing with Yahoo Groups going to be worth your time? Well, that will have to be answered on a case-by-case scenario. As for me, I have plenty of free traffic generation methods that I have been using that don’t involve worrying about spammers and that have brought me MASSIVE free traffic to my websites.
