Step #1:  Make sure that you follow the “rules” so that you get your articles listed.  Whether you are submitting your articles online to the article directory sites, or offline through other methods, we all have to follow a few simple “rules” so that are articles will be accepted and published.  One of these rules is to never to your article into a sales pitch.  Another is to never place affiliate links within your articles.  These are sure ways of having your articles rejected.

Step #2:  Get your reader to the end of the article.  Some article marketers are really great at writing and they can create lengthy articles with great content.  Unfortunately, the longer the article, the smaller the chances of someone finishing your article.  Create each article so that it can get the highest number of readers finishing the entire thing.  This is a crucial step to follow for step three.

Step #3:  Finally mention your website and/or services.  At the end of your articles, most of the time you are able to place information about yourself along with your website.  This is done in the “about the author” box.  This is the box where you finally have the chance to make a small pitch.  Make a compelling offer that is going to get the reader to visit your website.  Maybe give them a free eBook or other free information for visiting.

Step #4:  Create your website so that it sells.  If you have made a compelling offer for your visitors, like a free mini course or eBook, make sure that you deliver that free information somewhere on the landing page.  You will want to capture their name and email address in exchange for the free information that you are providing, so make sure to set up your website so that you can capture that information for your email marketing.  After your prospect signs up for the free information, get them to continue reading your web page.  You will want to set up this landing page so that it turns into a sales letter for one of your products or services.  If they don’t decide to buy today, the great thing is that you will have captured their name and email address so that you can send them more free information and occasionally remind them of the product or service that you sell. 

Step #5:  Track your visitors to see if your process is working.  When this entire process is used correctly, you should accomplish the goals of:  sending your article readers to your website, capturing their email addresses, and then making sales.  If for some reason people aren’t visiting your website, fix things so that it will only make logical sense for people to visit your site after reading your article.  And if you are having troubles capturing email addresses, fix things on your website so that a larger number of your visitors give you their contact information.  And of course, if you aren’t making sales, fix your sales letter or figure out why your visitors aren’t buying.  Once you pinpoint problems and fine tune the process, your website can get to the point where your article marketing becomes a constant flow of visitors and sales on your website.

You see, at times I like to only focus on the most “easy” ways for generating free website traffic, and I used to think that taking the time to post to blogs or forums wasn’t an easy and effective way of generating more free website traffic.  Well, I was wrong.  It just so happens to turn out that not only is posting to blogs and forums an “easy” way of generating more traffic, it is actually also a “residual” way of generating more website traffic. 

I learned the simple fact that posting to blogs and forums gives you “residual” website traffic shortly after finally deciding to start doing so.  I started to notice almost immediately that I was getting more and more clicks to my own blog and home page.  I guess that’s why they call it social marketing right?  The whole point here is that it can help you out extremely well if you decide to post to other people’s blogs and forums, so the lesson is to stop hiding behind the computer screen and to start being more social!

First, a quick overview of what I am teaching you.  Basically, each time I shoot the content for one video, I make sure to take the majority of that content and alter it in slightly different ways so that I can create multiple videos to upload to the many video sharing sites across the web.  I generally like to make a short, normal, and long version for each section of content that I am creating videos for.  As a result, instead of one video, I have three, and since I like to shoot 10 or 15 videos per week, I can turn that content into 30 to 45 videos.

This is how I do everything:  First, I make sure that I can take my content and create 3 different but similar video titles.  I will optimize my titles, tags and descriptions so that I can try and get my videos ranked.  After I have my 3 different titles, then what I do is start editing my content so that I can turn it into 3 different videos. 

The first version of my videos is normally my short version.  This is the version where I will take most of the raw content and make it into my video.  If I do add something extra to the content, usually it will just be adding text with the video containing my contact information or website name.  I usually do all of this using Windows Movie Maker.

The second version of my videos is usually my normal version.  In this version I take the same content from my short version but I will add credits to the end of the video.  Usually these credits are no longer than 7 seconds long, and they usually tell people about a compelling free offer if they visit my website.

In the third version of my videos, what I do is take the same content from my normal version and then add a little bit more to it.  This time I will usually add a title or intro page for the video.  This is just a normal page with a title introducing the videos main concept.  After I have my 3 versions created, then I upload them using software that allows me to send each one of the 3 videos to over 30 different video sharing sites. 

 I normally have no problems using this method to upload my content to video sharing sites.  This is because I am technically not uploading multiple content.  Each one of my 3 videos are unique in some way.  If you would like, you can take this concept a step further and create significantly longer and shorter versions of your content in order to make different versions. 

The main reason why doing this benefits me in my video marketing is because instead of having one chance at creating a successful video, I am giving myself 3 chances.  There have been plenty of times where one of my video versions has received tons of views, but the same video in a different version has received very few views.  The only real difference between these videos has been the titles.  So, normally you don’t know exactly which title, description and tags is going to get you the most views, so if you give your self 3 chances to get it right, then normally one of those three versions is going to get a great amount of views.

What to do first:  Basically, if you want to know if it will be worth you time to participate in forums, you will need to see what your forum options are, and if you find that there are few forums on your niche market, then that may be an opportunity for you to create a large amount of traffic by creating your own forum. 

O.K., once you have seen what forums are available to you, you will then want to pick the forums that have Google Page rankings.  The way to learn the page rank of any website that you are visiting is by installing the Google Toolbar on your internet browser.  You then go into the options for the Google Toolbar and then click on the option that allows you to see the page ranks of these websites.  Generally, it is rather hard to get a Google page ranking for any website, so if you see any forum with a page rank of 1 or better, then you may want to consider posting to that forum. 

Now, if you find forums that have page ranks of 4 or better, and if those forums allow you to put your website name in your signature and at the end of your comments, then you have just hit a jackpot.  If I found a forum with these qualifications, I would become a regular participant in that forum, and the reason is because once you can create links on that high ranking website that point back to your website, that allows you to manually increase the “importance” of your own site.  The search engines like to see links to your website from other high ranking websites, and this can increase the popularity of your own website on the search engines.  But chances are, if there is a forum with page ranks of 4 or better, they are likely going to have a no tolerance approach to spam.  This would mean that you would need to be very careful about placing links to your own websites on these forums, but if you do things right and really participate in these forums, then it will likely be viewed as o.k. for you to occasionally mention one of your websites.

So, as you can see, I view the forum’s page rank as the most important factor in deciding if I will participate in that forum for free traffic.  The reason why I take this approach is because if a forum has a page rank, it likely has a good amount of participates and forum visitors.  Also, good page rankings means that most of the forum’s discussions probably are getting indexed and ranked in the search engines, so the more discussions you participate in, the more chances you have of having people read your comments and possibly visiting your own website. 

Now, is posting to forums going to be worth your time?  Well, if you need to create some quality links to your website, then it will be a great idea.  Also, if you are looking for an extra spike in website traffic, there are possibilities for doing so, but these extra incoming links and extra traffic will only happen if you find some great forums to participate in within your niche.

So, if you have any type of online presence at all, then it just makes sense to use YouTube.  I have even seen companies that just sell clothing use YouTube to promote their websites.  Shooting a video of a new purse style (or even an old one) may be boring to a lot of people, but a video doing this will still get views and still drive free traffic to a website. 

Yesterday I once again celebrated a great 4^th of July, and for part of the day I was browsing the internet.  I found myself once again on YouTube and I noticed how true it was that you can promote almost anything and get response on these video sharing sites.  I saw a video and it was created by the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.  They created a somewhat funny video on proper hot dog eating etiquette.  As a result, this video received almost 200,000 views in a short period of time.  Not bad advertising for the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, right?  But, what is my point here,  my point is that you can use these video sharing sites and create a great amount of exposure for yourself.  And if one video creates a buzz, then why not create 5 videos, or 10 videos, or 100 videos?  Besides, you only have to create and upload your videos once and then it can act as a marketing tool for you and your business for years to come.

How can all of this be?  Well, because of the power of the internet, I have been able to use the concept of social marketing fairly easily.  And when you use social media sites on the web, there is zero cost.  So, this is what I do:  First, I join many of the social media sites that are very popular today across the web.  I am talking about video sharing sites like YouTube, and social networking sites like FaceBook and MySpace.  Then what do I do?  Well, I try to become social with a purpose.  For example, I will share great free information on videos that I upload to many of the video sharing sites.  Also, I will create a blog to share with the friends that I generate for myself on MySpace. It’s really not that hard, if you make great videos or create a great blog, then people will want to be your friend on many of these social media sites.  They will then decide they want to visit your websites and some will really be excited to purchase your products or join your network marketing team. 

So, what is the biggest reason why all of this rocks my socks?  Well, the biggest attraction for me is that if I can learn to generate sales through using social media, then the sales that I have generated cost me nothing in advertising.  As a result, I no longer need to spend thousands of dollars for Pay Per Click advertising for my online businesses.

Traffic swarm isn’t a scam because they do nothing illegal.  What they try to do is set up a system so that people can get lots of free targeted traffic to your website.  The good news is, they have succeeded at getting lots of people free traffic to their websites, which can do wonders for your Alexa rankings.  The thing that I think traffic swarm lacks is the ability to get TARGETED traffic to your websites. 

The Traffic Swarm system is set up on a credit basis.  You can earn credits by visiting other people’s websites, or you can purchase credits in order to get people to visit your website without having to visit other people’s websites.  Most people are required to stay on your website for over 20 seconds in order for them to earn a credit so that other people will do the same for their website.  The main flaw in this system is that it seems people will mainly go to your website for ONLY 20 seconds so they can hurry up and earn more and more credits.  So, if I was a credit earner, then the maximum amount of credits I could earn in one hour is 180 credits if my timing was perfect.  As a result, you are suppose to get tons of website visitors to your own website as a reward for the visits that you made.  So, if you need just a bunch of visits (but no sales) to your website, then this whole system will work for you.  I say that you will likely get zero sales because when people are clicking to your website, they are doing it just for the credit.  They are probably not going to care about what your website has to say, unless you have one specific type of website that would catch their attention. 

In my opinion, the mindset of the person on traffic swarm is that they want free website traffic, so if you have a website that will teach them how to get free website traffic, and if they are starting to get frustrated with the traffic swarm system, then they will likely decided to stay on your webpage and learn about what you have to offer.  If I was trying to advertise my website on traffic swarm, and if I was visiting tons of websites that had to do with “who knows what,”  then I would think that I would only find interest in a website that was telling me that I could get more free traffic, through a better means than the traffic swarm system. 

To sum things up, even though traffic swarm says that you will get free targeted traffic to your websites, I believe that you are only getting free traffic to your websites, and this traffic isn’t targeted.  There are actually a lot of ways to get free TARGETED traffic to your website, and I would like to share some of these ways with you.  It takes a little bit of work, but I think you will be highly satisfied with your results.

If you have experimented with traffic swarm, then you likely know that when you become part of traffic swarm, you will drive free traffic to your websites.  In fact they have set things up so that people will go and visit your website for about 20 seconds before people will receive a “credit”.  As a result, if you look at your analytics or tracking for your website, you will see that you are really getting these visitors to your website.  But, from most people’s experience you will not see any sales from this website traffic.  This is because the people on traffic swarm are using traffic swarm for the specific purpose of driving free traffic and get more sales on their OWN website. 

Now, let me ask you this, if you had to earn “credits” by viewing someone else’s website for 20 seconds, then what would you do?  I’ll tell you what I would do, I would go to that website, pull up another application that I was working on, and then sometime after 20 seconds go page to the webpage in order to “visit” another website in order to earn another credit.  In other words, I would go to that website for more than 20 seconds, but I wouldn’t actually look and/or care about that certain website. 

Now if everyone is doing this, then everyone is getting free traffic, and if you just need to improve your Alexa rankings, then this would work.  But may I suggest putting your effort into ways that will improve your Alexa rankings while getting real visitors to your website?  If the people visiting your website don’t care about what your website is about, then basically you are just wasting your time, aren’t you?  Now, like I said, there is one type of website that people SHOULD show interest in if they see your website on traffic swarm.  Remember why PPC advertising works so well?  It is because people are searching for your type of website when they type those keywords in the search engine.  When they go to your website, they are likely interested and will possibly buy from your website.  So, remembering this, what is the mindset of people while they are on traffic swarm?  What are they looking for? 

Folks, these people are looking for ways to generate free traffic!  So, if you have a website that teaches people how to get free traffic, or if you have a product that helps people get free traffic, then this would be one of the best websites to advertise on traffic swarm.  Now since most of us don’t have websites that are teaching people how to get free traffic, then we all need to learn some REAL ways to get free traffic to your website.  I encourage you to take me up on my free offer in order to learn these real ways to get free traffic.  Good luck!

Will this trick work for all blogs?  Nope.  Unfortunately, there are a large number of blogging software programs out there, so this is definitely not going to work for all blogs.  Also, if your blog is hosted on a different website like WordPress.com, or Blogger.com, then it is going to be a lot harder to put these social bookmarking buttons at the end of your posts.  Also, depending on which website you are using, there may not be a way for you to automate the process.  If you want these buttons automatically placed at the end of each of your posts, then the easiest way to do this will be to install a WordPress.org blog on your own website.  There are tons of benefits to doing this, and if you are serious about blogging for free traffic, then you should take the time to learn how to incorporate the WordPress.org software on your own website. 

So, if you want to add these social bookmarking buttons for a blog that you are promoting on blogging website, then the best advice I have for you will be to search for “Digg button” or “Social Network Button” on that websites FAQ.  Generally, if you can add these buttons to your posts, then the answer will be revealed in the FAQ. 

If you want automation, and you have already installed the latest version of the WordPress.org blogging software, then you’ll be pleased to know that there are a number of different WordPress plugins that you can incorporate on your blog for almost all social networking buttons.  Many of them work well, and at the time that I am writing this, one of the plugins that many people use that gives you a lot of options is the “Share This” plugin.  This plugin can be found at the following link: http://alexking.org/projects/wordpress

The funny thing about WordPress plugins is that some of them will work great for a while, but then after WordPress has made too many updates, the plugin may stop working all together.  I share this with you in case one day you find that the “Share This” plugin no longer works.  Then you will know to look for a different plugin that does the same thing.  Also, you may want to install the “Share This” plugin along with other plugins that function similarly in order to see which plugin you like most for your blog.

I like to tell my clients  to use their daily life situations and turn them into some kind of lesson pertaining to whatever they’re an expert in.

When people continue to see, listen to, or read your stories you then become one of their favorite sources of “news”. This is how you can develop a following. You see this on youtube’s happyslip, lonelygirl15, and whatthebuck…there’s hundreds of them!! Anyone can model how they do it!!

For example, the other day I was speaking to my sister-in-law. She asked me what I do for a living now. I told her I help people with their home businesses–Internet marketing as well as network marketing, etc. This was her reply,  “You mean those pyramid thingies?!?!” So I asked, “What’s a pyramid?” She says, “Well, if you don’t know what it is, then you must not be in one, but it’s where the guy at the top makes all the money.” To which I quipped, “Oh, you mean corporate America.” She says, “NO, I’m talking about the SCAMS where the guy at the top makes all the money and the little guys at the bottom do all the work and don’t make any money.” I explained to her that “You won’t find a bigger, more blatant scam than what goes on in Corporate America and you described it perfectly”.

She didn’t like that and she went on to tell me that what I’m doing won’t work and that I should try to find a real job. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I make about 3 times what she does even though I don’t have nearly as much experience in this as she does in her profession. Plus, there’s the fact that I work only a few hours per day, as well as the fact that it’s about 2 in the afternoon and I’m writing this at a bench after eating lunch in a beautiful park on a nice, sunny day and I’m enjoying most of my time with those I love the most, and the least of my time with those I like the least, and she’s doing the exact opposite. AND I NEED TO GO FIND A REAL JOB?!?!

So I immediately took that life lesson and turned it into an article, a blog post, as well as a video. Of course, I then added it to a viral eBook. All in one hour, my work was done that day!! In fact, I should pay that poor woman for helping me. But pride would get in her way of taking the money as a real compensation for value she provided to me, because her mindset about money is all wrong.

Here’s another easy one…I will research my competition incessantly. When I find the “newest report on MLM Scams”, etc. I’ll do reviews on those types of things, because lots of people are receiving emails with this stuff and they don’t have time to read them. Now I give them a short summary of what the info was about and they know, like and trust me. I’ve shown them that I understand what I’m talking about and now they have the scoop and they didn’t have to take the time to read it…I’m creating a following…by doing what I normally do every day anyway, with the one small extra step of writing the review of that particular ebook or report…which ingrains the info into my head further anyway, which is exactly what I want.

Money in my pocket and info in my brain all in a day’s work…I love this industry!! This is the easy way to get free traffic to your website.
