Google Slap 2009: What Are The Predictions?

If you want my entire eBook for free on the Google slap, then download it now…

Some internet marketers are already wondering if Google will implement more slaps in 2009.  Well, it looks like that Google has accomplished a huge part of their goal with previous Google Adwords Slaps, so my guess is that we won’t be seeing any major changes to Adwords.  Don’t get me wrong, we may see a few extra steps taken for “The Google Adwords Slap,” in 2009, but for the most part, it seems that Google has done a great job of getting rid of untargeted advertising.  But that’s just with AdWords, what about in other areas across the web?  What are some things though Google could slap people for in the near future?

Well, as of right know I have one major prediction.  That is that Google may implement what I call a “Google Video Slap.”  You see, right now a lot of us internet marketers are enjoying the fact that we can obtain great search engine rankings using video.  You could have the worst video in the world and still have it ranked if you include the correct keywords phrases in your titles, tags and descriptions.

There are a few internet marketers who have truly taken advantage of this fact.  They have created a bunch of videos and have even taken the liberty to “spam” the descriptions of their own videos with a number of relevant, but also a number of irrelevant keyword phrases.  My guess for 2009 is that Google will start to “crack down” on video marketers who have been using video to achieve great search engine rankings.  I believe a number of the videos that are getting great rankings on the search engines today may be removed from the listings next year.

So, the question here is what are other people’s predictions for the Google slap?  In what ways do you think Google will help to provide people with more relevant content in 2009?  Please comment on this article and let us know.

Phil Miranda here…the “Google Slap” or Google video slap in my opinion will not be implemented until Google and for that matter the world economic meltdown gets better, since Google relies heavily on it’s “Adwords” market to generate a profit.
